Herrenweg Vineyard provided most of the grapes for this Riesling. Zind-Humbrecht's dedication to terroir expression guides all winemaking practices, which include extended pressing cycles, abbreviated clarification cycles (to retain natural yeasts and proteins in the must), natural malolactic fermentation and extended aging on the lees. The wine is aged 8 months in 40-year-old French barrels.

2014 vintage
Harvest Note
2014 was another vintage that made us discover new extremes and some good and bad surprises. Winter and spring were mild and very dry, with March being the driest month of the year. These conditions made the vines bud-break earlier than usual and vegetal growth was fast at the beginning of spring. Flowering started in the end of May, about 2 weeks earlier than average, and finished rapidly around June 10th for all the vineyards, under extremely warm conditions. July was a difficult month with heavy rainfalls and warm temperatures. Luckily, the cooler month of August is responsible for excellent acidities in the wines. The harvest began on the estate on the 10th of September and finished on the 10th of October. All the wines have superb acidic balance and good physiological ripeness, with normal sugar levels.
Tasting Note
The nose has a delicate fruity profile, showing citrus fruits and some exotic aromas. The palate is light and elegant, with crystalline structure. The wine tastes dry with an excellent acidity and without any sharpness. It is a very easy drinking wine and a perfect representation of a fresh Riesling.
Food Pairing
Enjoy as an aperitif or with seafood.
