Solo is a sparkling dry red wine made using natural fermentation. Grapes come exclusively from the acclaimed Tenuta I Qurecioli vineyards, within the province of Reggio Emilia. Vines are grown in clay soil using Cordone Speronato (cordon trained and spur pruned) with restricted yields. The blend is 51% Ancellota and 49% Lambrusco Salamino. The wine is best served at a temperature of 57 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit and should be consumed within two years of vintage.

2019 vintage
Harvest Note
The 2019 vintage, in the area where our vineyards are located, was characterized by a seesaw climate trend. Around the end of autumn 2018 we have experienced very cold temperatures. During Spring time the temperatures recorded have been higher than normal, and pretty dry and this did not allow a regular blossoming of the buds. In May we had a lot of humidity and June reported a sudden rises in the temperatures that have given space to the plant to form not too big clusters and to reduce our interventions in the vineyard. Due to a longer maturation time, the harvest began with a considerable delay (it started on September 17 with Ancellotta and on September 25 with Lambrusco Salamino). The quality of grapes is overall good; we expect to have a fresh wine, with a good aromatic intensity, excellent acidity, ideal PH levels, and a reasonably good alcohol degree.
Tasting Note
A vivid, brilliant ruby red, the wine shows classic red fruit aromas. Though dry, the palate is fruity, round and exuberant with fine and persistent bubbles.
Food Pairing
Delicious with cured pork meats such as salami or mortadella or a variety of pasta dishes such as tortellini or lasagna. Great also with pizza, BBQ and Mexican food. It's a very versatile wine.

About the Grape

Lambrusco
Well-made Lambrusco can be refreshingly dry, with a lovely fragrance of red fruit and violets, a medium-bodied palate of fresh strawberries, a gentle spritz and a slight bitter almond finish.
