Concerto is the world’s first single vineyard vintage Lambrusco. A sparkling dry red wine, its lively bubbles are achieved through natural fermentation. Grapes from the prestigious Tenuta La Rampata vineyard in Reggio Emilia province are grown on Cordone Speronato (cordon trained and spur pruned) vines in clay soil with highly limited yields. The wine is best served at a temperature of 57 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit and should be consumed within two years of vintage.

Harvest Note
During the 2019 vintage at the La Rampata Estate, the weather was characterized by a seesaw climate trend. Around the end of autumn 2018 we had experienced very cold temperatures. During spring the temperatures recorded were higher than normal, and pretty dry, which did not allow a regular blossoming of the buds. Thankfully, May was an important turning point; it brought heavy rains creating considerable humidity. June reported a sudden rise in the temperatures that gave opportunity for the plant to form good sized clusters and to reduce winemaker intervention in the vineyard. Due to a longer maturation time, the harvest began with a considerable delay (it started on September 25 with Lambrusco Salamino). The quality of the Salamino grapes was good; we expect to have a fresh wine, with a good aromatic intensity and excellent acidity.
Tasting Note
Intensely brilliant and pure in both its ruby red color and aromatics, the wine shows a fresh strawberry, raspberry and cherry character. On the palate, dry yet fruity, round, fresh and lively notes are delectably harmonious. Acidity and tannins are perfectly balanced and the finish is clean.
Food Pairing
Delicious with cured pork meats such as salami or mortadella or a variety of pasta dishes such as tortellini or lasagna.

About the Grape

Lambrusco
Well-made Lambrusco can be refreshingly dry, with a lovely fragrance of red fruit and violets, a medium-bodied palate of fresh strawberries, a gentle spritz and a slight bitter almond finish.
