Meursault lies at the center of the Côte des Blancs, a region in the Côte de Beaune named for the quality and predominance of its white wines. The vineyards are chalk and white marl and are spread over gentle slopes between 230 and 360 meters above sea level; their desirable eastern orientation allows maximum sunlight. The grapes are handpicked and sorted, then gently pressed and fermented in oak barrels without artificial temperature control. Partial or no malolactic fermentation is permitted based on the vintage. A proportion of the wine is aged in barrels before bottling.

Harvest Note
This was a somewhat turbulent growing season. Lack of soil moisture and a poor fruit set diminished the harvest volumes.
Tasting Note
Full and expansive upon entry, with subtle blend of citrus, floral, and hazelnut essence, then a long elegant finish.
Food Pairing
Perfect with nearly all fish dishes, and equally at home with white meats such as chicken in various preparations.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
