This vineyard is close to the village of Pernand, on calcareous, stony soil that faces east. The wine has a wonderfully fruity character, with a trace of rustic berries. Most of the vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir. The fruit is fermented in tanks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for about 15 months before bottling.

Tasting Note

This powerful wine’s ripe black and red berry aromas develop into supple tannins prior to a long finish. It will develop in the bottle for five to eight years.

Food Pairing

Serve with red meats, lamb and mild cheeses.

About the Grape

Pinot Noir
In France, makes a silky, deceptively powerful wine of elegant, complex aromas and subtle, red fruit flavors, with earthy, floral, mushroom and mineral notes. In California, shows ripe, sweet characters.
