Located on the western edge of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of Saint-Aubin consists of two areas of distinct mesoclimate: one exposed to the south and southeast on chalky limestone soils and the other with a cooler, more eastern exposure on soils with more gravel and clay. The Chardonnay grapes are fermented and matured in oak barrels for a total of 12 months before bottling.

Tasting Note

With characteristic aromas and flavors of hazelnut, peach and oak, this medium-bodied wine’s fine balance is aided by fresh acidity. It will develop in bottle for five to eight years.

Serve with fish, white meats, flaky pastry dishes and strong cheeses.

In the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet are the three most famous white wine villages. Chassagne-Montrachet, reputed for its great Grands Crus, produces village whites that are the most robust in style. Meursault is often considered masculine in style compared to Puligny-Montrachet, which is charming, elegant and feminine. For red wine, Pommard is the most recognized village of the Côte de Beaune and often considered the most masculine red wine of the Côte.
