Located in the north of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin includes 26 Premiers Crus and 8 Grands Crus. The Grands Crus are located on an east-facing slope south of the village on deep clay soil with surface limestone, which creates wines that are both powerful and precise. The grapes are fermented in vats for three to four weeks, then the wine is matured in French oak barrels for up to a month before bottling.

Tasting Note

A full-bodied, powerful wine with aromas and flavors of red and black berries and licorice. It will develop favorably in the bottle for more than 20 years.

Food Pairing

Serve with game and classic Burgundian fare such as boeuf bourguignon, coq au vin and French cheeses (except blue).
